Hello Everyone! BeeWee here.
Blizzard recently released an update to battle.net launcher and may have leaked the WoW The Burning Crusade Classic release date on it. There are pictures online showing a TBC image and saying “June 1st” for returning to the Outlands AkA TBC.
There is speculation around this supposedly leak and the potential for it to be fake or a hype build up. Blizzard has been known to “accidentally” release information of new title or patches to build up hype. Sometimes the information in these are true. Sometimes they are there as a marketing scheme and it’s released at a different time. This one is hard to tell.
I believe this one is a hype build up and given June 1st is about 3.5 weeks away, I don’t see this coming to fruition. There is too much that Blizzard has going on with Shadowlands new patch release and I don’t see them conflicting a TBC release with a very large Shadowlands patch. Personally, I see the Dark Portal opening sometime in July or potential August 2021. August 2021 makes sense in my eyes since that’d be a 2 years since the release of Classic WoW. However, I’m thinking more late June or July to fill the gap once the new Shadowlands patch becomes consumed within a month of releasing it.
Time will tell. Regardless, the hype is real for TBC and this only perpetuates that hype further. There are going to be some big updates coming from Blizzard in the next week or two. Check back soon for an update.
Thank you all for reading. I will catch you all in the next one.
